MEET victoria mexcur lcmhcs, LIMHP
YOU DON’T HAVE TO CARRY THIS alone.
I love what I do, and I feel honored to walk along side of you in your journey of self discovery! Embracing who we are, how we process and heal means that therapy can look like very different things for people. I want to meet you where you are and offer you as many appropriate approaches as possible to engage in your growth!
BEING HERE DOESN’T MEAN YOU’RE WEAK—IT MEANS YOU’RE strong.
I’m a licensed therapist offering mental health and drug and alcohol counseling services in North Carolina (LCMHCS) and Nebraska (LIMHP). I provide telehealth for all and in person sessions for locals in the commutable Charlotte NC area. I have a passion in assisting individual, couples, and those in rural communities to navigate through the struggles of life. I specialize in processing trauma, grief and the struggles of co-occurring disorders.
I also specialize in working with high performers with performance anxiety and work on building resiliency. I also have a strong passion to serving veterans with PTSD (combat and noncombat). I am EMDR-trained, and I am certified to include equines (horses) in therapy sessions.
How I work
01
I BELIEVE CHANGE HAPPENS WHEN YOU build relationships.
I like to tell people that I’m relational where we are a team and straight forward with a side of whimsical fun! It’s important to be able to find empowerment in the resiliency that has been built and give space for the sadness, anger, hurt that was also experienced to build harmony and alignment to continue to be amazing!
Some would say that I’m playfully professional and thats because I flat out LOVE what I do!
I also believe that repair, mirroring and modeling are crucial to building emotional safety and that therapy is the best place to practice that. Therapy is a place to try new things, skills and approaches and has a multitude of creative options. The motto here is “dare to do it different” so lets!
HEre’s what I believe about therapy:
“Its not about the thing, its about the other thing”
You come to therapy because there is a pressing issue that may have an underlying experience that seeps into how we function in day to day life. When that happens, we struggle and spin out asking “WHY??” with really no answer to satisfy or resolve the experiences. There are so many things that are interconnected that we need to unravel it and reorganize what we think, feel and sense with our life stories.
The “muchness” can be regulated.
Our bodies hold all of our experiences and stories and if we have a lot unresolved it can be a little “much”. Picture a tank overflowing while trying to do “normal” day to day life (its a bit much right?) well we get to build awareness, alignment and skills to support our body move through our histories and our day to day.
It cant always be serious
Yes this stuff is serious and I take it VERY seriously. You should see how I advocate (mama bear ride or die status insert here) and yet we also get to bring in some playfulness, fun and whimsy! In order for our nervous system to feel safe, strong and empowered, it needs to also be able to take a break with a breath and a laugh. Did you know that laughing helps bring more oxygen and moves your muscles to down regulate safely without being all kumbaya about it?? Our bodies get to work on being safe while we work on the other things that hurt and brought you to therapy.

Fun Tid bits: Love me some plants, so much that I have over 100+ that I love to share with clients and sell as a hobby. I also do endurance horseback riding, completing 50 miles on Bellagio and am bringing up a colt named SoCo to continue on in his path in both seeing clients and endurance…Oh and when I’m not doing all that, I loosely “train” for triathlons or enjoying a girl dinner and a sheet mask couch rotting (its all about balance right lol).
Passionate dislikes: celery and peas (come at me).
Spirit Animals: Hummingbirds and Turtles…I will always stop and help them cross the road.
